Katrina
I had always thought of myself as more of a cat person than a dog person. That was before I got my first dog, a beautiful Dalmatian named Katrina.
My daughter had been begging for quite awhile for a dog and she was in love with Dalmatians. I shared this with my coworkers.
One day, one of my friends at work told me that there were some Dalmatian puppies not far from the office.
I decided to surprise my daughter with a puppy. I stopped by the house with the puppy sign and was led out back to the kennel. There were half a dozen darling puppies in the first one. In the back was a small dirty dog along with 2 larger dogs. I was trying to decide on a puppy without much luck.
I asked if all the dogs were for sale and all but the two sets of parent dogs were. I asked about the small skinny, dirty dog in the back. They said she was on sale for $75 because she was already six months old and most people want small puppies.
I took the six-month puppy with me and went home. On the way home she wanted threw up in the backseat. When I got home, my daughter was disappointed because she looked like a dog not a puppy.
After much discussion we finally named her Katrina after the famous figure skater. When we took her to the vet, she said she was very underweight weighing 25 pounds but should have weighed 40 pounds. I believe she had been unable to get enough food staying in a run with two larger more aggressive dogs.
Katrina gain weight quickly and also read the hearts of my two sons and daughter. She was while the bull and cuddly but also very shy. When we first got her legal food in our hands and patted her to ease her fear. Tonight eat from the ball at first.
She going to a beautiful dog and always received many compliments when out and about. She had a few bad habits like getting lost or going for runs through the neighborhood. She also issued a few socks, rolls of toilet paper and various other items. Back to late over the first several months.
On Tuesday test it. She loved to play fetch, hide and seek in football with the family. She willingly wore shirts, sweaters, hats and bandannas as my daughter loved to dress her up.
Katrina was quite a sports fan. She went to the kids games, baseball, softball, soccer and rugby. She sported team colors and was occasionally so excited she ran onto the field of play. She also love going to the park, and a good hiker and swimmer and occasional chaser of ducks.
Katrina filled our lives with joy and unconditional love for 10 years before making her way across the rainbow Bridge.
We were heartbroken when we lost her to an infection in her spine.
Our memories of her will last a lifetime or it
